EA FC 26 Brazilian License

Hey EA FC 26 fan! For years, one of the most significant “missing pieces” in the EA SPORTS FC (formerly FIFA) universe has been the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.

While a handful of clubs have appeared under the Libertadores banner, they have often been filled with generic players, leaving fans to dream of a fully authentic Brazilian experience.

However, according to a series of reports from insider Bernardo Pinho (Lance!), that dream is closer than ever to becoming a reality.

EA FC 26 Brazilian License

The Media Leaks

1. Lance

Brazilian sports outlet Lance! reviewed the situation and explains that the Brasileirão has been absent as a fully licensed league for years, and that talks are ongoing between EA, league groups and other stakeholders.

The article explains why the league’s return is complex and how CONMEBOL licensing has already allowed some Brazilian clubs (via Libertadores) to appear in the game.

2. Itatiaia & Local News

Itatiaia and other local news sources trace the rumour back to leak profiles and social posts showing early images/assets that look like Brazilian-club artwork and suggest the developer has prepared club imagery. Those leaks are the origin of the renewed chatter about an official licence.

3. CNN Brasil

CNN Brasil reports that players’ representation bodies (like Fenapaf) and league actors have been discussing image-use and negotiations — an important step because collective agreements or a representative negotiation path would make a league-wide deal far easier.

Fenapaf has reportedly been approached about how to protect athlete rights and possibly work towards a collective licence model.

Licensing Problems

Brazil’s Lei Pelé and the country’s image-rights framework mean EA can’t simply sign a league deal the way it does in many European competitions.

Past legal disputes over player image (real faces) use are precisely why Brazilian players were removed from earlier FIFA/EA titles; any return will likely need either:

  • a new collective representation mechanism (so EA can negotiate once instead of many individual contracts), or
  • extensive individual agreements with players. Multiple outlets flag this as the central hurdle, and it’s the reason why coverage so far treats the news as possible but not final.

Brazilian Clubs in EA FC 26

Importantly, this wouldn’t be starting from zero. EA FC 26 already features many top Brazilian clubs as part of the CONMEBOL Libertadores competition. You can already manage or play with giants like:

  • Atlético Mineiro
  • Botafogo
  • Corinthians
  • Cruzeiro
  • Flamengo
  • Fluminense
  • Grêmio
  • Internacional
  • Palmeiras
  • São Paulo
  • Vasco da Gama

If a league licence comes, those clubs would simply be upgraded from tournament representation to full league squads with licensed player faces, kits and broadcast assets.

Note that Campeonato Brasileiro Série A clubs have some players in the database files of EA FC 26 and old EA SPORTS FC/FIFA games.

  • Luiz Gustavo
  • Lyanco
  • Willian José
  • Arthur Cabral
  • Yannick Bolasie
  • Memphis Depay
  • Walace
  • Jorginho
  • Luciano Acosta
  • Martin Braithwaite
  • Gabriel Mercado
  • Vitor Roque
  • Neymar
  • Cédric Soares
  • Philippe Coutinho

There are other players, and we hope that the rumor will become a reality and that we will find this prestigious league in the game soon.

Release Date

At the moment there’s no official EA announcement with dates or a guaranteed rollout. I say it again, there are no official confirmations of anything.

The most reliable coverage frames the story as: talks are underway, leaks show early assets, and industry + player-rights groups are involved in discussions.

That means a return is plausible, but still contingent on legal agreements and final contracts. Expect incremental updates from EA (or official statements) if and when a deal gets done.

Brasileirão in Career Mode

If the Brasileirão returns as a full licence, you can expect:

  • Proper club kits, logos and licensed stadium branding across the league.
  • Real player faces and names in Career Mode, Kick Off and Ultimate Team.
  • Improved authenticity for South-American football fans and content creators covering those leagues.

That’s why this rumor has such momentum — the Brasileirão is huge in real life, and its return would be a major content win for EA SPORTS FC. (But remember: nothing is final until EA confirms it.)

Final Whistle

There’s real momentum behind the story: respected Brazilian outlets are reporting negotiations, player-rights groups are being looped in, and leaks show early club assets.

Still, Lei Pelé and the need for an organised approach to image rights make this a complicated deal — one that could take time to finalize.

We’ll keep watching and will report any official confirmation or patch notes as soon as EA announces them.
