New & Updated Real Faces
The pursuit of visual authenticity continues. Following a server release after the main update, you can expect 7 new player star heads and 1 updated manager star head.
This includes improved likenesses for Premier League standouts like Jarrod Bowen, Granit Xhaka, Jack Harrison, and Rayan Aït-Nouri, making your favorite players look better than ever.
I know the number is a bit small and we were expecting more, but we hope that the new and updated real faces will be increased with the release of the next EA FC 26 Squad Update to the lineup.
EA FC 26 Main Menu Refresh
To get you in the holiday spirit, the EA FC 26’s Main Menu will receive a festive transformation after a server release.
Expect a cozy, wintry theme complete with falling snow and seasonal decorations from the moment you launch the game.

Gameplay Tweaks
EA SPORTS made a big push on goalkeeper behavior and core gameplay reliability. These are the meaningful changes you’ll notice on the pitch:
Goalkeepers
- Manual Goalkeeper Movement is now far less effective in open play — reduced movement speed and coverage means you can no longer rely on manual keeper tricks to bail you out of poor defending as often.
- Removed “Rush To Center” from open play (still allowed on set pieces).
- Fixed poor reactions to some first-time shots and cases where keepers failed to save opposite-side dives.
- Competitive-only: keepers now transition faster after catching the ball (throwing, passing off, moving with the ball), improving realism in high-level play.
What this means: well-placed shots and composure will be rewarded more consistently, and matches should feel less about goalkeeper gimmicks and more about real finishing.
Be A Goalkeeper
- Sidestep distance reduced to prevent excessive scrambles.
- Fixed cancellations of requested saves after a deflection.
- Better grab logic in 1v1s and when chasing loose balls; improved auto pickup logic.
- New Super Cancel for cross interceptions, plus a Right Stick flick up to request a punch.
- Increased positioning assistance and auto-save help, plus more consistent cross-catching.
- Streamlined Right Stick input mapping — left/right flicks cover more shots, corner-height inputs require more precision.
- Fixed odd interactions with the net.
What this means: playing as the keeper should feel tighter, fairer and more predictable — especially in 1v1s and cross-heavy situations.

Other Gameplay Improvements
- Skill moves transition speed slightly increased after Drag Back follow-ups.
- Set pieces issues that caused user-controlled players to become unresponsive were fixed; CPU corner logic corrected.
- Referee & rules tweaks to reduce incorrect offsides and improve penalty calls involving keepers.
- Attacking: players avoiding offside will now seek space more often.
- Crossing & passing: headed pass accuracy slightly lowered and crossing trajectories reduced to shorten floaty crosses.
- Defending: fixed visual/indicator bugs like secondary contain showing in the wrong situations.
In general: these tweaks aim to reduce frustrating edge-case moments and make on-ball interactions feel more natural.
Career Mode Improvements
EA FC 26 Manager Career and Player Career both receive quality-of-life enhancements that give you more control and information.
- Squad Hub now shows players’ willingness to extend contracts — saves time when planning renewals.
- Manager Live Hub gains a new tab to start Live Start Points and Manager Live saves more quickly, and it surfaces retro kit rewards.
- Shortcut selections in menus are now remembered automatically when you exit the switcher.
- Create Your Club: mascot preview added to the flow — you’ll see mascots before finalizing the design.
- Player Career: archetype preview tiles now display both current XP and XP needed for the next level; recommended archetypes replace the generic attributes view during creation.
Fixed issues:
- Corrected wrong goalkeeper camera angles.
- Fixed a blocked replace-team option in Create Your Club that prevented swapping to non-favourite teams.
Why it matters: these changes remove small annoyances and help you make faster, better-informed management decisions without digging through menus.
Clubs Evolution & Rush Rematches
Archetype Level Cap Increased & New PlayStyle
This is a monumental update for Clubs players. The Archetype Max Level is increased from 60 to 75. You’ll now have up to 475 Attribute Points to distribute.
A new customizable PlayStyle slot is added, and reaching the new max level of 75 unlocks a signature PlayStyle+. Additionally, AXP Instant Boosts can now be used up to level 40.
CAM Match Rating Rebalanced
Addressing community feedback, the calculation for CAM Match Ratings has been adjusted to align with other positions, ensuring ratings more accurately reflect performance and reducing cases of unintended rating inflation.
Ultimate Team Rush Rematches
A requested social feature is coming to Ultimate Team Rush. A new rematch function will allow you and your opponents to vote to play again together, keeping the lobby intact for continuous matches.
Solved Issues
- Short-term fatigue now applies consistently with other game areas.
- CAM match rating logic adjusted to avoid inflation.
- Fixed randomise button callout disappearing while editing My Pro.
- UI transitions improved and some missing hairstyle previews fixed.
- Corrected post-match player-card mismatches where the wrong Pro could appear.
Why it matters: Clubs feels more rewarding, less grindy, and more stable — especially for long-term Pro progression and competitive play.
Final Whistle
The EA FC 26 Holiday Update (v1.3.0) is a thoughtfully packaged mix of gameplay realism (goalkeepers and core fixes), meaningful Clubs progression, Career Mode polish and some festive presentation flair.
The goalkeeper tuning alone will change how the final third feels; combined with Clubs upgrades and Rush rematch functionality, this patch should keep both competitive and casual players engaged through the holiday season.
