EA FC 26 Title Update v1.5.3 is dropping soon (edit: now available) for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch.
While not a massive content drop, this patch brings some clever gameplay tweaks, several Career Mode improvements, and a handful of Ultimate Team fixes.
The standout change? Goalkeepers will now deliberately kick the ball out of play if you try to waste time by endlessly passing back to them.
It’s a small but smart move to keep matches authentic. Let’s dive into everything changing in Title Update v1.5.3.
EA FC 26 Title Update v1.5.3
Gameplay
EA SPORTS has addressed a rare but annoying scenario: players excessively passing back to their goalkeeper to run down the clock.
In authentic football, this isn’t how teams behave – and now it won’t work in EA FC 26 either.
- New Behaviour: Goalkeepers will now kick the ball out of play if a player repeatedly and excessively wastes time by passing back to them.
- Important Note: This change only targets unrealistic, repeated time-wasting. It does not affect a typical backpass or normal build-up play.
So if you’re trying to cheese your way to a win by keeping the ball at your keeper’s feet for minutes on end, expect the ball to be hoofed into the stands. Fair play, EA.

Ultimate Team
Two issues have been resolved in Football Ultimate Team:
Transfer Market Search: Some kits and badges were not showing up when searching the transfer market. That’s now fixed, so you can find that elusive retro jersey for your collection.
Celebration Previews: Certain Player Celebration animation previews didn’t display when selected. No more guessing what your goal celebration looks like – the preview now works as intended.
Career Mode
Career Mode receives the most attention in this update, with several changes and fixes designed to make your managerial life smoother.
Made the Following Changes:
European Standings Clarity: Added a missing separator in European competition standings (Champions League, Europa League, etc.), making it much easier to see which teams advance to the playoffs. No more squinting at the table.
Job Applications Auto-Watchlist: When you apply for a job at another club, that team is now automatically added to your watchlist. A small but handy time-saver.
Men’s vs Women’s Team Labels: Added labels next to team crests in challenge descriptions, so you can clearly differentiate between men’s and women’s teams at a glance.
Challenge Completion Clarity: Added a clearer description on the challenge completion UI to explain how saves and career progress work after finishing a challenge. Helpful for newer players.
Manager Job Security: Managers with low job security at the end of the season are now automatically upgraded to Okay status. A nice touch to avoid unfair sackings after a rough but survivable campaign.
Addressed the Following Issues:
Wrong Manager Assignment: Sometimes, managers were incorrectly assigned to a different team when selecting ICONs & Heroes during career creation. Fixed.
ICON Wage Demands: In Manager Career, ICON players could request unrealistically low wages during contract negotiations. This has been corrected – legends will now demand appropriate salaries.
European Qualification Bug: In some cases, a League-winning team was placed in the incorrect European League (e.g., Champions League winners sent to Europa League). This error has been resolved.
Text Issues: Addressed instances of incorrect or overlapping text across various menus.
General, Audio, and Visual
A broad sweep of visual and stability improvements:
Visual Updates: Updated various elements including names, overlays, kits, sponsors, crests, banners, scarves, flags, logos, hair, boots, star heads, and ad boards. Expect a fresher look across the game.
Stability: Addressed various stability issues that could have caused crashes or performance problems.
