Another day, another meaningful update for EA FC 26. Title Update 1.6.1 is now live on all platforms (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch), bringing mostly stability fixes – but also a major quality‑of‑life addition for Career Mode fans.
You can now select a national team to manage directly within Live Start Points, giving you instant access to The World’s Game (World Cup 2026) tournament from the moment you start a new save.
Additionally, the June 2 squad update has added a wave of new players – including the long‑awaited Neymar Jr. – and removed several others. Let’s break down everything that’s new.
EA FC 26 Title Update 1.6.1
The patch notes are short but sweet:
- Addressed various stability issues that could have occurred across modes.
- More importantly: after installing TU1.6.1, when you start a Manager Career – Live Start Points save, you will now be able to select a national team to manage in addition to your club. Simply choose your manager and club, then press (X) to pick a national team.

All 60 national teams are available, neatly divided by continent: Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America.
This means you can jump directly into The World’s Game (World Cup 2026) tournament mode from within your Live Start Points career – no extra menus or waiting. It’s a seamless way to experience international football alongside your club duties.
