EA FC 26 players: good news. The team is preparing Update 2, planned for the first days of October, to tackle a set of bugs that popped up since launch — especially issues around kickoff defensive behaviour and some Clubs and UI problems that have frustrated players during live play.
Below we break down what the update is targeting, why it matters for Gameplay and Clubs, and the small workarounds you can use until the patch lands.
What’s the big change?
One of the most-talked-about problems from launch has been how defensive lines behave immediately after kickoff.
In some kickoffs the defensive shape has reacted in ways that give attackers extra space or clear chances — essentially creating too many “kickoff goals.”
EA SPORTS Team says EA FC 26 Update 2 will include defensive-positioning improvements that specifically take effect around kickoffs.
The aim is simple: stop unintended openings at kickoffs, keep defensive lines solid, and reduce cheap goals that feel out of your control. That should make Competitive and authentic matches feel fairer and more skill-driven.
Other issues and bugs
There are some other bugs that have been spotted in the player feedback portal and forums, which we also hope to resolve and improve.
- Clubs — AI pass delay: AI teammates sometimes hesitate or take excessive touches when you ask for a pass in Clubs.
- Stadium shadows: Some players still see stadium shadows even when the shadows setting is off.
- Player Career avatar tattoos: Tattoos set during avatar customization may vanish for some saves.
- Ultimate Team menu dropdown: After pressing (LT / L2) in the Ultimate Team Home menu, the dropdown could become inaccessible.
- Kick Off Classic sliders: CPU slider changes sometimes didn’t persist in Classic Matches — this bug must be addressed so AI behaviour changes save correctly.
There are also many strange problems and glitches in the game that we hope to fix soon.
Final Whistle
EA FC 26 Update 2 (Title Update #2) is focused, practical and driven by community feedback — a sign that EA SPORTS is listening. We’ll keep an eye on the notes once the patch goes live and report back with exact version details and any additional tuning.
For now, expect a tighter kickoff experience, smarter AI in Clubs, and a cleaner UI across the board when the update lands in early October.
