EA FC 26 v1.1.0 is rolling out soon — a major title update focused on gameplay balance, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements based on the community’s feedback.
The patch tackles everything from defensive feel and passing responsiveness to Goalkeeper behavior, Ultimate Team polish, Career Mode stability, and UI fixes across platforms. Here’s a friendly breakdown of what to expect.
Table of Contents
Gameplay Fixes
This update is a big one for the on-pitch experience. The team focused on making defending feel more reliable, passes do what you want, and animations behave correctly.
Defending
- AI around kick-offs is now more aggressive with man-marking on the defensive side, reducing cheap kickoff goals.
- Jockeying responsiveness and sprint jockey speed for player-controlled defenders were improved so manual defending feels snappier.
- Fixed a raft of tackle issues: two-tackle attempts, tackles from behind falsely winning the ball, early-ending tackle animations, and cases where a takedown would undesirably return possession to the attacker.
- Standing-tackle animation selection has been refined and more players now stay back on corners to protect the box.
Passing
- Ground and lofted through passes are more faithful to your aim and less over-assisted. Ground throughs now lead better and are more reliable.
- Fixed cases where first-time through passes or headed passes failed, were mis-aimed, or were affected by weather incorrectly.
- Improved responsiveness for first-time passes when the ball arrives at medium height; also addressed situations where a requested clearance took too long.
Movement & Positioning
- Controlled sprint dribble speed was slightly reduced and made more consistent; directed runs can now be triggered during controlled sprint dribble.
- AI attacking run logic improved to reduce offside runs and avoid teammates colliding in attack.
- Fixed bizarre corner-post positioning and other cases where attackers or teammates stopped runs or stumbled unintentionally.
Goalkeeping
- Better GK logic for corners and near-post shots, stronger and more consistent punches, and fixes for errant deflections back to attackers or into the net.
- Addressed issues where keepers didn’t react while being manually moved, or rushed out unnecessarily. Fixed clipping and get-up facing problems.

Dribbling & Skill Moves
- Improved ball trapping, air-ball traps, and movement retention while trapping.
- Reduced fancy ball traps for players without Trickster PlayStyles and fixed skill move input issues (e.g., missing skill moves, incorrect ball-rolls instead of Croquettas, double flick-ups).
- Corrected cases where a skill move raised the ball causing unwanted player switches.
Other gameplay tweaks
- CPU in Be A Goalkeeper will attack and shoot more frequently; Player Career AI focuses more on team buildup at Professional+ difficulties.
- Increased stamina effects and foul frequency in Authentic gameplay to better reflect player fatigue and physicality.
- Referee logic tuned for standing/slide tackles and to reduce incorrect penalty/goal calls.
- Fixed many edge-cases: shielding getting stuck, late shot modifiers not registering, interceptions losing the ball, and more.
Ultimate Team
EA FC 26 v1.1.0 brings several helpful UX improvements plus a long list of bug fixes.
New/Improved features
- SBC sorting by Newest and Expiry Date (server-side enablement coming after the update).
- Evolution preview: view challenge requirements and eligibility before owning an EVO (server roll-out soon).
- Ability to favourite and track Objectives and Objective Groups — favorites appear in the pause menu for easier in-match tracking (server-side enablement coming).
Fixes & UX improvements

- Fixed Squad Tactics not saving, bid issues on the Transfer Market, formation role display bugs, Champions pop-up spamming, and many UI overlays and text alignment problems.
- Platform-specific fixes (e.g., PS5 audio issue on scoring, Switch visuals) and many stability fixes.
Career Mode
This update cleans up manager logic, messaging, and several annoying edge-cases.
- Reduced spammy manager market emails and tightened AI manager job security calculations.
- Fixed caretaker manager star ratings, mismatched end-of-season emails, misreported objectives for late-joining managers, and incorrect social media or trophy posts.
- Addressed avatar customization issues (tattoos disappearing), pre-match interview visuals, and problems editing Manager Live info after creating a manager.
- Various stability and simulation display fixes, including Deep Simulation stat issues.
Clubs Fixes
- Penalty order changed so user-controlled players take penalties before AI players in Drop-In penalty shootouts.
- Fixed UI issues (Archetype XP display, Team Management access for non-captains), bundle preview problems, missing Clubs Objectives tabs, and dynamic tifo problems.
- Addressed controller, customization, and lobby issues on Switch platforms, plus a host of other usability improvements.
General, Audio & Visual
- Added Game Type info to Kick Off pre-match screens, improved aspect-ratio options on PC, and refreshed many 2D assets, star heads, kits, and stadium visuals.
- Fixed issues such as trophies/pyros spawning on the pitch, incorrect lighting, and default ball behavior in snowy conditions.
- PC improvements: shader caching, texture fixes for Intel GPUs, and resolution/save handling fixes.
- Switch-specific fixes for GameShare and Game mode displays, plus many cross-platform stability fixes.
