EA FC 26 Version 1.0.2 Update Notes

EA SPORTS has rolled out EA FC 26 version 1.0.2 across all platforms. I think this type of update is new to the EA FC 26, but it is a positive point to quickly address bugs before the global release of the game.

This update is the first major post–closed-beta tuning that directly responds to community feedback, and it focuses on core Gameplay improvements and stability fixes across Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Be-A-Goalkeeper and more.

If you play EA FC 26 (whether in Competitive or Authentic modes), this patch matters — here’s what changed and what to watch for.

Gameplay

The heart of this update is pure gameplay tuning. Based on reports from the Closed Beta and the Player Feedback Portal, EA SPORTS focused on realism and responsiveness in EA FC 26’s on-pitch systems.

Key gameplay highlights:

Low Driven Shots: Tuned to be less accurate when fired with extreme power. Goalkeeper reactions to low driven shots have been improved, so keepers should now block or parry those strikes more reliably.

Attacking AI & Runs: Wingers now make attacking runs into the box more frequently, and teammates have better offside awareness. EA also fixed situations where players wouldn’t run into open space when it would help the attack.

Wing-back behaviour: Wing Backs won’t drop too deep while your team is in possession, improving the balance between attack and cover on the flanks.

Positioning & defensive shape: Players now position more sensibly when you set low defensive depth; Centre Backs are less likely to drift wide when marking central attackers; False Backs transition back to defence more intelligently.

Be A Goalkeeper (BAG) UI: The BAG UI received a polish — new dive indicators show shot direction, Camera Pan input was adjusted to avoid button conflicts, and overall BAG visuals were refined.

Wet weather & heavy touches: EA addressed heavy dribble touches that pushed the ball too far ahead (a problem most noticeable in wet-weather Authentic gameplay). They also improved cases where ground passes unexpectedly fell behind the intended receiver.

Driven Ground Passes & shooting animations: Extremely difficult driven ground passes (e.g., first-time passes at awkward angles) were tuned down for accuracy. EA also fixed some incorrect shooting animations that could cause unexpected results on lace shots.

These changes aim to make both Competitive Gameplay (for FUT and Clubs) and Authentic Gameplay (for Career Mode) feel more consistent and less frustrating — especially in the situations players flagged during the Closed Beta.

Ultimate Team

Several multiplayer and UI issues were addressed to make FUT more stable and predictable at launch:

  • Fixed a bug where players sometimes couldn’t enter multiplayer after accepting a Co-Op invite.
  • Corrected misaligned player item portraits on the Squad screen.
  • Resolved a stability issue that could occur after completing onboarding and viewing your Squad for the first time.

These fixes should reduce disconnects and visual glitches when jumping into Rivals, Live Events, or Squad management.

Career Mode

A major Career Mode issue we reported earlier: players could leave your club if you sim through the calendar for an extended period.

That bug has been acknowledged and addressed in this patch. If you rely on simming, this fix is one of the most important parts of 1.0.2.

If you still prefer to manual-manage sims for the time being, keep regular saves and check your inbox for player morale messages until you’re confident the problem is fully solved in your save.

General Fixes

Small things that add up — EA patched a collection of presentation and stability issues:

  • Updated a number of star heads (more new and updated real faces), kits and placeholder text/images.
  • PC only: Fixed a performance drop that could happen when changing display settings while in Borderless mode.
  • PC only: Addressed a few instances where controllers wouldn’t recognise inputs.
  • A number of stability issues across platforms were also fixed to improve general reliability.

Final Whistle

EA FC 26 Version 1.0.2 is a welcome, community-driven update that focuses on the fundamentals: goalkeeping behaviour, attacking runs, defensive shape, bag UI improvements, and a host of stability fixes in FUT and Career Mode.

These aren’t flashy additions — they’re the small, essential adjustments that make EA FC 26 feel more polished and fair on day one.

EA SPORTS Team will keep watching patch notes and the Player Feedback Portal. If you spot a change that’s made your matches feel better (or worse), tell the community and the devs — that feedback loop is clearly paying off.
