Our journey into EA FC 27 updates has officially begun. Early Access kicked off on September 18, and while the reception has been largely positive, there were a few bugs and rough edges that needed attention.
Ahead of the worldwide launch on September 24, EA has released the first patch – Title Update v1.0.1 – now available on all platforms.
It’s a small update focused on fixes rather than gameplay overhauls, which makes sense: EA wants to preserve the Early Access and launch tuning, giving players time to learn and adapt before any major balance changes. Let’s break down everything in this patch.
EA FC 27 Title Update v.1.0.1
Gameplay – Jockey Speed & Fatigue Tweaks
Two gameplay changes have been made, both quite specific:
Jockey and Sprint Jockey Speed (Authentic Gameplay only): If you play Career Mode or Kick Off with the Authentic Gameplay preset, the default slider values for Jockey and Sprint Jockey speed have been moderately increased.
This makes defending feel a touch more responsive in those modes. Importantly, this does not impact Competitive Gameplay – so Ultimate Team and competitive modes remain untouched.
The Grounds 11v11 Fatigue: In The Grounds 11v11 matches, the impact of fatigue on long-term player stamina has been increased.
This means players will tire more noticeably over the course of a match, adding a layer of realism and tactical depth to those mode.
Bug Fix Addressed:
- Fixed an issue where players using a custom controller preset were sometimes unable to perform their intended inputs. That frustrating bug should now be gone.
Ultimate Team – UI Fix
One issue has been addressed in Ultimate Team:
- When selecting a Player Item that didn’t meet the requirements of the Filter Evolutions By Player option, parts of the UI could become unresponsive. This has been fixed, so you can now filter and select Evolutions without the interface locking up.
The Grounds – Skill Moves, Hot Join & Ping
Three issues have been resolved in The Grounds:
5 Star Skill Moves Fix: Players were unable to perform 5 Star Skill Moves during Street Football matches in The Grounds, even if their Avatar had the appropriate skill level unlocked and equipped. This has been corrected – your dribbling should now feel as silky as intended.
Hot Join Fix: Sometimes, players were not able to join a match using the Hot Join functionality. This should now work reliably.
League Match Ping: Sometimes, players would have unexpectedly high ping in League Matches. This has been addressed for a smoother online experience.
General, Audio, and Visual
A few general fixes round out the patch:
- Stability: Various stability issues that could have occurred have been addressed.
- Nintendo Switch Only: In some cases, players may be unable to use DLC commentary audio languages even if they are already installed on the system. This has been fixed.
- PS5 Only: Visual issues could appear in the main menu. This has been resolved.
Final Whistle
Title Update v1.0.1 is a maintenance patch – it doesn’t change the meta, rebalance gameplay, or add new content. That’s intentional.
EA wants to preserve the gameplay tuning from Early Access and launch, giving the community time to learn the systems before any significant adjustments.
If you’re already playing Early Access, download the patch and enjoy a smoother experience. If you’re waiting for the September 24 launch, you’ll benefit from these fixes from day one.
