Tailor your on-screen experience with the new Player Name Bar and dive into a revamped Rush mode with Be-A-Goalkeeper, new visuals, and more.
FC 26 is doubling down on player control and quality-of-life improvements, introducing a brand-new customizable Player Name Bar and a host of significant upgrades to the fast-paced Rush Mode.
These changes are designed to give you more information at a glance and enhance the social and competitive experience in one of the game’s popular modes.
In our previous article, we discussed FC 26 New Skill Moves. Now, let’s jump right into a deep dive on Player Name Bar and Rush Mode.
Table of Contents
A New, Customizable Player Name Bar
The new customizable player UI in FC 26 lets you tailor your on-screen experience to fit your exact needs. You can now adjust the information displayed above your controlled player, choosing your preferred layout and highlighting the stats that matter most to you.

In addition to the existing information, EA SPORTS FC has added a few new elements and a new settings menu to let you customize it. You can individually toggle on or off the following, all of which are enabled by default:
PlayStyles+: This icon shows which PlayStyles+ the currently controlled player has available. When a PlayStyle+ is activated during gameplay, the icon will flash and glow, giving you clear visual feedback.
Skill Moves Rating: A simple but effective addition, this shows the currently controlled player’s Skill Move star rating right on the screen.
Footedness: This incredibly useful new icon shows whether your player is left or right-footed and, crucially, how good their weak foot is. The strong foot is highlighted with a double border, while the weak foot is shown on a five-point scale, with the boot icon filling up from the heel. The more filled in it is, the stronger the weak foot.
This new UI also adapts to the mode you’re playing. In Ultimate Team, the team badge is replaced by the UT Player Item. In modes like Clubs, you’ll see the Player Archetype. And in play-as-a-player modes like Clubs and Player Career Mode, the player’s live match rating will also be displayed next to the Player Name Bar.
FC 26 Rush Mode
For Rush Mode, the focus was on adding new ways to play, implementing quality-of-life improvements based on community feedback, and enhancing the overall presentation.
# Rush Mode Improvements
Be a Goalkeeper: This is a game-changer. Players can now choose to control the Goalkeeper in Clubs Rush, adding a whole new tactical dimension to the gameplay.
Quick Chat: The social experience has been deepened with four diverse Quick Chat categories, each featuring four distinct messages, making communication with teammates quicker and more effective.
Paused Users: When a player pauses the game, their teammates will now see a Pause icon above their character. If the paused player has the ball, teammates can request a pass, prompting the AI to deliver it to them.
Career Mode Rush: A small but important tweak for Career Mode players: you can now make substitutions during Youth Tournament matches, allowing you to develop and evolve more of your youth academy prospects in a single game.
# Enhanced Visuals, UI, and Audio
Dynamic Camera Focus: The camera will now dynamically work to keep both your player and the ball in view, giving you a better perspective on the action.
New Commentator: The legendary Derek Rae is now an option for players to select as their commentator in Rush mode.
Post-match Accolades: The post-match screen has been refreshed to better highlight each player on the team and their key achievements during the match.
Presentation Elements: The wipe transitions have been reworked to be smaller and less obtrusive, and the cameras will now dynamically zoom in on the goal scorer during celebrations for a more cinematic feel.
Final Whistle
These updates aren’t just fluff—they’re about making FC 26 feel like it’s built for you. The Player Name Bar lets you see the game your way, cutting out the noise.
And Rush Mode? It’s more social, more dynamic, and way more fun—whether you’re diving for saves or linking up with your mates.
So, lace up your boots, tweak your setup, and get ready to hit the pitch. FC 26 is dropping soon, and trust me, you won’t want to miss this!
